Moving to the UK to study will require a lot of planning, so we’ve prepared a streamlined guide to help support.
Passport and Visa: make sure that your passport is valid for at least 12 months. You should apply for your visa as soon as you receive a university offer, ideally six months before the intake deadline if possible.
Academic Certificates: Keep original certificates, IELTS/TOEFL scores, degree transcripts, and your university offer letter.
Financial Evidence: Make sure you have proof of funding, bank statements, and a reasonable amount of cash ( around £300) for initial expenses. Avoid carrying excessive cash and consider traveller’s cheques for additional funds.
Medical and Insurance Records: Make sure not to forget your travel and health insurance, any medical prescriptions, translated medical notes, and a doctor’s letter for ongoing treatments if needed.
Before you move to the UK, it’s important that you learn about the various UK customs and practices before your departure, and we recommend joining some clubs and events in advance to meet new people and ease any cultural shock.
You should also stay informed about UK news and political conditions and familiarise yourself with local laws and public transportation beforehand.
